Wetherby to Cawood, Saturday 18th March 2023, 40 miles

An Enid Blyton seven turned out for what was a typical Saturday outing. Bob J, Pete C, Bob L, Neil, Alec, Sean and me.
Sean hadn’t been out for a couple of weeks and a special welcome to Bob J who also joined us. Last but not least to Neil for his first Saturday ride.
The weather included a westerly wind but pleasingly no rain expected. Our route took us through Stutton heading to Ulleskelf and Cawood.
Unfortunately it was my turn for a mechanical or should I say a mudguard break. Fortunately the Audax King had the skill set to supply a temporary fix with a cable tie.
Having lost time Bob J took to the front on Raw Lane and on with the power, resulting in a very quiet and stressed peloton.
On through Stillingfleet to Naburn and Copmanthorpe finishing with our cafe stop at the Grange. Busy but room outside and pleasing to have them open again. Coffee, sandwich and cake £6. 👌
Final leg through Healaugh to Wighill and Walton where the BS and Bramham riders peeled off for home, leaving Bob and I to head towards Wetherby and the Rugby.
Thanks guys for a good ride and as ever to Bob J for his inspirational cycling knowledge.
