Wetherby – Boroughbridge, Saturday 8th October 2022, 43 miles

Just me Graham and Bob Lunt met on a lovely bright sunny morning in the Shambles. We headed north east to Aldwark Bridge, then Aldwark village and Flawith. Passing through Helperby cum Brafferton or Brafferton / Helperby if you prefer, we would have liked a coffee stop. There was a cafe here a few years ago but sadly no longer. Therefore, it was on over Thornton Bridge, a left turn towards Boroughbridge and a debate about the best cafe, Bob said he only knew one and that was Plenty for me. Bacon sandwich and black coffee for us both and a chat with some other cyclists on the large table in the back room. We decided on going through Knaresborough to get home and rode of towards Minskip and Staveley. We went into Knaresborough and down to the riverside, Plenty of people but not sunny as the high cliffs were still shading the road. We arrived back in Wetherby at about 12.35. It was a beautiful morning for October and a shame there were only two of us. At least Bob and I enjoyed it.
