Seven riders met at Boston Church. Bill, Steve B, Keith, John B. Bob L, Steve P and me, Pete C. Set off slightly later than normal as Keith was helping a lady with the bus timetable [my job normally assisting females in distress]. So on towards Tadcaster and taking the right turn near Newton Kyme to the Grammar School. Then through Stutton, Ulleskelf, Ryther, and turning to go over Cawood bridge. The next villages being Stillingfleet and Escrick, and Bubwith which is normally one of our coffee stops, but not this time, as more miles to go… Our destination was Howden and the bakery/cafe where the food was good and reasonably priced. We sat outside in the sun, discussing the Queen’s funeral, Steve B reminded us that the last time we were in Howden, was when we did the Humber Bridge ride. After the refreshments and energy levels on the up, it was back to base through Selby, Biggin, Church Fenton, and Ulleskelf where Steve P. and John left our group. It was a good ride at a steady to fast pace and about 70 miles.
