A collection of usual suspects gathered at the church in Boston Spa mentally prepared for a hot day in the saddle. At 09:25 (and a bit), Frank, Pete C, Kathy, Kenn, Alec, Bob L, John B and I (Keith) headed off over the bridge towards Wetherby. Nick joined us on the A168 and, from there, we had a steady ride to Melmerby where we stopped for coffee, cake and soft drinks. After a further pleasant 10miles going through the very pretty village of Kirklevington, we arrived at the 360 Cycleworx café in Bedale. Lunch was very pleasant taken sitting at the tables in front of the shop – definitely, a stop to use again in the future.
The group split for the ride back with Pete, Bob, Kenn and John taking the direct route down the A168 while the rest of us had a very enjoyable ride past Thorpe Perrow Arboretum to Ripon. At this point, the group split again with Nick, Frank and Alec heading for another coffee while Kathy and I continued back to Boston Spa – hopefully, in time for Kathy to meet her decorator. And when I got back I realised it was my longest ever WW ride
