Belated report for last Sunday.
Five of us assembled for the ride, this had changed since the planned outing to Sandal was cancelled and we decided on a ride north as an alternative.
Welcome to Bill for his first ride of the season, along with Geoff, Frank, Glyn and me Steve B.
We rolled out towards Knaresborough through Little Ribston etc and on via Scrivener to Ripley. Our route then took us up Scarah Bank towards Hebden Bank but Geoff suggested we avoid the steep bit by swinging across towards Fountains Abbey via Watergate road and then back to Sawley.
Bill peeled off before the climb to Sawley as he had to be back early. Hope you were in time Bill.
The rest of us rode onto the cafe at Risplith which I am pleased to say was open, my first visit as it had been closed on previous attempts. Coffees, sandwiches and cake were enjoyed in the sunshine before adding an extra loop to Kirby Malzeard and the descent to Ripon.
It was at this point Frank and Geoff wanted another coffee however Glyn and I needed to earn extra brownie points by getting home a little earlier, which we did.
We left the two stop outs to sample the Sun Parlour cafe, as we headed back via Bishop Monkton and Knaresborough into the wind and home.
Despite fragmenting we all had an enjoyable ride with arms and legs on full display.
