Wetherby – Raskelf, Saturday 9th April 2022, 45 miles

On a sunny but cold and breezy morning 6 Wheelers Mark, Glyn, Bob, Pete C, Frank & myself (Alec) arrived for a treat to my favourite refuelling stop at Raskelf.

We set off towards Walton via the NCR 665 & onwards to Aldwark … yes the bridge is still open. From there we faced a cold breeze, in bright sunshine, to Raskelf. I think we were all looking forward to our stop from where we’ll hopefully have the breeze assisting our way home.

Our stop at the Sun Beck Cafe was longer than expected … I wonder why??? … so when we headed back via Thornton Bridge to Boroughbridge we decided to take the short route home instead of via the planned Staveley route. So we said goodbye to Bob as he headed back home … we enjoyed your company.

We got back to Wetherby just 10 minutes late after the planned 1300 finish so Frank was happy to make his appointment with the garage. Hopefully, it was a good ride for everyone and thanks from me for all helping me through the ride with the Wheelers for some time.
