Frank, Bob, Keith, Phil, John and Steve P met outside Boston Spa church on a lovely spring morning. The aim was to meet Nick in York whose daughter had been visiting and Nick had seen her to the train station early on.
Early leavers were John and Phil before the group arrived at the planned rendezvous with Nick in the “Cosy Time” cafe in Fossgate, York. After coffee, Keith had to return for a planned appointment. Good to see all 3 if even for only part of the ride.
The next stage was an impromptu route to Malton, jointly devised by Frank and Nick.
The northeasterly route encompassed Stockton on the Forest, Sand Hutton, Bossall, Kirkham Abbey and Low Hutton before reaching Malton. This particular picturesque route was a joy to ride in the warm spring sunshine before taking lunch at the “Yorkshire Tea Rooms and Cafe” on Castlegate.
Suitably refreshed the fab four set off with a welcome tailwind to Castle Howard, Terrington, Stearsby, Stillington then Easingwold for a quick pit stop.
After this, Alne, Youktin, Aldwarke and Wighill were taken in before the return to Boston Spa.
This was a much liked 76m (approx) ride in the lovely spring sunshine.
