Wetherby – White Hose Bank, Thursday 3rd February 2022, 68 miles

Seven riders set off in grey conditions hoping to avoid the rain that was forecast for later in the day – Graham, Mike B, Mark L, Fred, Steve W, Michael and Glyn. Ian joined us along the way. Michael, who had to be home by noon, left us prior to reaching Aldwark bridge. Our first cafe stop was at The Fika Room in Easingwold where we met Geoff and said farewell to Fred who decided to follow his own route. Six of us then set off towards the infamous White Horse Bank and a well-deserved lunch at The Gliding Club. A fast descent of Sutton Bank was followed by a speedy ride to Boroughbridge only interrupted by a rapidly fixed front wheel puncture to Glyn’s bike. It was decided to take the direct route back to Wetherby, saying farewell to Ian along the way. The rest of the peloton arrived in Wetherby at 4:00pm having had a great ride out and managing to avoid the rain. Distances ranged from 65 to 85miles depending upon starting points.
