With a fine day in prospect, 7 Wheelers arrived at Boston Spa Church for 9.15.
Frank, Nick, Pete D, Phil Robinson (pilgrimage from Otley), Steve P, Boston Spa Bob and me, Steve B.
Frank had posted a ride to Sherburn and this had drawn us all out in our droves. However, a number had indicated an early return was necessary due to additional commitments. We set off towards Bramham, Aberford, Micklefield before turning east for Sherburn and our early café stop.
Pete D pointed out that it was like taking coals to Newcastle as he had just come that way. 😀🚴♂️ Practice makes perfect Pete.
At the cafe, Bacon and egg sandwiches, toasted tea cake, quiche and beans fortified five of us.
Frank and Phil R sat outside at the back, presumably it was something we said. 😝
After a second coffee, four headed towards Tadcaster and that left three amigos to soldier onto Cawood and Naburn. After a couple of miles Pete D engaged warp drive and skipped on, he bumped into Dennis and apparently they stopped for a coffee!
That left the two Steves to trundle on enjoying the scenery, weather and how to right the world, amazing what Yorkshire men can achieve. Boris clear your desk and return your phone and laptop please.
We decided having crossed the Ouse at Naburn to take the Colton road out of Copmanthorpe and head to Tadcaster which allowed Steve an easier route back to Garforth. After congratulating each other we took our separate routes, with me heading home via Wighill and Walton to Wetherby.
Despite the reduced numbers, we had a good ride.
