Tockwith – Almscliffe, 14th March 2021, 40ish miles

A really windy day blowing from the West so Simon and I headed straight into it towards Wetherby. We were only out for a shorter ride so we struggled against the gale to Almscliffe Crag via Weeton and Huby.
Then down that nice road thro’ Stainburn thinking to get a coffee at Poole but the café was shut so we took the same route again up to Almscliffe, just to enjoy the views, and then home via North Rigton, Pannal and Spofforth.
Hagg road from the A59 to Spofforth was great with the wind behind us- over 30 mph without much effort at all. Still fairly cold- I set of well wrapped up but didn’t need it all later. The distance was something in the 40’s but considering we didn’t even go as far as Otley, we did plenty of hills and some really nice lanes.
